She speaks about her time while working for the Taj Group as a Senior Executive and resigning to start her own label, SUMRITA  IN 2001 , with her first flagship store at Ambawatta, Mehrauli, New Delhi .

This was followed by a second store at 1 MG , New Delhi , the first mall to house all the leading fashion Designers under one roof .

As she mentions , at that time most were designing apparel , she saw an opportunity as there was a lack for good fashion Accessories .

Her designs range  from bags  and clutches to shawls and stoles to fashion jewellery .

Her collections mixes vintage with new and contemporary , fusing these with her own sensibility .

She has showcased her collection in many store across India and abroad , to name a few , Indiva in Toronta , Kano in Japan , Riyadh , England , Ensemble in Delhi and Mumbai ,  Deval in Ahmedabad , Amethyst in Chennai and recently in Ranchi.
